I invented Officer Bob because I was living the problem myself.
As a parent, I couldn't believe how far neighborhood safety had been left behind.
Cars became smarter.
Homes became smarter.
Doorbells became smarter.
Yet the streets our kids play on remained largely unchanged.
After years designing for companies like Apple and Uber, I decided to bring that same level of technology, visibility, and thoughtful design to one of the most important places in a child's life: the neighborhood.
Because our kids deserve better than yesterday's solutions.
Why is Officer Bob a character instead of a regular camera?
Because a black camera on a pole feels like surveillance — and nobody wants that staring down their street. A friendly face is something kids recognize and drivers slow down for. The form is the feature.
Is this surveillance? What about my neighbors?
No. Officer Bob isn't pointed at people — it's an extra set of eyes for the kids playing out front, the same way a doorbell or a car's camera already sees the street. Nothing is pooled, shared, or sold. It's awareness, not a watchtower.
Who can see the footage?
Only you. Footage is stored locally on the device and accessed from your phone — it never touches our servers. In future cloud versions, you'll hold the encryption key, so even we can't see it. Ever.
How does it actually keep my kid safer?
Two ways. Its 360° light makes your street more visible so drivers notice and slow down sooner — and it keeps a steady record of the street, so if anything ever happens, you're not relying on memory.
Can I move it around?
Yes. That's the point. Driveway today, the cul-de-sac tomorrow, the park this weekend. It goes wherever they go.
