What makes Officer Bob different from traditional "Slow Down" signs or safety figurines?

Traditional safety figurines and signs have looked and worked largely the same for decades. Officer Bob combines high-visibility lighting, portability, modern technology, and traffic-awareness research into a system designed to help drivers notice children sooner and encourage safer speeds where kids play.

Does Officer Bob actually help slow cars down?

That's exactly what Officer Bob is being designed to do. Every design decision—from the visibility lighting to the overall form—is focused on helping drivers become aware sooner. We're building Officer Bob using principles inspired by traffic visibility and driver awareness research, and we'll continue testing and improving the product over time.

What exactly is Officer Bob?

Officer Bob is a neighborhood awareness device designed to help drivers notice kids sooner while keeping an eye on the places they actually play. It combines bright visibility lighting, always-on local recording, and a child-friendly design to bring modern awareness to driveways, sidewalks, cul-de-sacs, and neighborhood streets.

How is Officer Bob different from a doorbell camera?

Doorbell cameras watch your front door. Officer Bob watches the places kids actually play. More importantly, Officer Bob is designed to be seen before something happens—helping drivers become aware sooner while also capturing footage if you ever need it.

Does Officer Bob require a subscription?

Officer Bob is designed to work without subscriptions, and your recordings remain under your control.

How does the camera work?

Officer Bob records locally using a system similar to a dashcam. Video is stored directly on the device and automatically loops over older footage when storage becomes full. If something important happens, you can save the footage before it is overwritten. It's secure, private and yours.

Is my footage private?

Yes. Privacy is one of our core principles. Your footage is stored locally on the device—not on company servers—and only you can access it. We're designing Officer Bob to help protect your family's privacy while still giving you the peace of mind of having another set of eyes on the street.

Will I be able to save important moments?

Absolutely. While Officer Bob is designed first and foremost as a safety device, it can also capture the unexpected moments that make childhood special—bike rides, chalk drawings, neighborhood adventures, and everything in between. You can save the moments you want to keep before normal loop recording overwrites them.

How easy is Officer Bob to set up?

Our goal is simple: Place it where your kids play, turn it on, and you're ready to go. We're designing Officer Bob to be quick and approachable for every member of the household, not something that requires hours of setup or troubleshooting.

Where should Officer Bob be placed?

Officer Bob works best where drivers naturally approach and children frequently gather—driveways, sidewalks, front yards, cul-de-sacs, and neighborhood play areas. Because it's portable, it can move wherever your kids are playing that day

How much will Officer Bob cost?

Final pricing has not been announced. Our goal is to make Officer Bob dramatically more effective than traditional safety figurines while remaining accessible to families. Reservation holders will receive our best launch pricing.

Is it legal?

Officer Bob is intended for use on private property or with you and records only what is visible from public spaces, similar to many home security cameras and doorbells. As with any outdoor device, local regulations may vary.
